How to style an old fashioned top!

Hello all you beautiful faces out there!
Lately, my Grandmother has been cleaning out her closet and pretty much 99% of the stuff she brings over to my house, is horrible, and we end up donating it, but this time was the 1% of something worth while!
Obviously, it wasn't a shirt I would throw on and wear, a little work has to be done to make it more wearable! Here is what I did!
Here is the shirt before anything. It has frilled sleeves, which I don't care fore, and that's basically the only thing I wasn't fond of. Other than the sleeves it's a white lacey top!

So, the first thing to attack are the sleeves. Which is an easy fix.

All I did was tuck the frill under and in the sleeve, to make it a 3/4 length sleeve!

Then, I added a tan braided belt from Target, to give me some shape, because this is a very square shirt, that was not flattering!

So, this is what it looks like with the sleeves, and the belt!

I added a mint green scarf and I'm ready to go!!

I'm still surprised at how well this turned out, because I had no hope with all the clothes my grandmother was trying to pass on.

Will you be raiding your Mom and/or Grandmothers closet looking for lost treasures?!

[P.S Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!]
